for Children (0-16)
All Canadian children, from newborn to age 16, require their
own passport to travel. Children may only be issued a passport with a maximum
validity of 5 years. Passports for children under 3 years of age are valid for
only 3 years. A child's passport remains valid until it reaches its expiry
date, even after the child turns 16.A child who was born in Israel to Canadian parents will need
to apply for a Certificate of Citizenship (see below) before applying for a
passport. If the passport is needed before the certificate will be ready, a
limited validity passport will be issued as long as the Passport Program can
confirm one parent's Canadian citizenship. The limited validity passport is
valid for two years and may not be extended. Normally, if the child is the first
generation born outside of Canada, the child is a Canadian citizen. You will need a guarantor to complete
process requirements. The guarantor must have known the parent for at least two
years and have knowledge of the child.Required Documents
